The Mpraeso Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Kwaku Osei, has sentenced a 28-year-old craftsman to seven years imprisonment with hard labour for sodomising an ll-year-old boy.
The craftsman, Michael Ofori, pleaded not guilty to the charge of having unnatural carnal knowledge of the boy.
Prosecuting, Detective Police Inspector Christian Apronti told the court that both the victim and Ofori lived in the same house at Nkawkaw and on July 1, 2011, about 6:00p.m, while it was raining, Ofori called the victim into his room and ordered him to sleep on his bed.
He said Ofori then warned the victim not to disclose whatever happened between them to anyone in the house.
The prosecutor said Ofori removed the victim’s shorts and had sex with him through his anus.
He said later the victim’s mother called him and sent him to fetch her some water.
He said when the victim bent down to carry the container to go and fetch the water; he felt some fluids flowing from his anus.
Detective Inspector Apronti said he narrated his ordeal to his younger sister who informed the mother and a report was made to the police.
He said the mother was issued with a medical form to take the son to hospital for medical examination, where it was confirmed that the victim had been sexually assaulted through the anus.
Detective Inspector Apronti said Ofori was later arrested and charged with the offence.
