The Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Albert Commey has debunked rumours making the rounds that Mahatma Otoo missed a mid-week penalty in a league match against Aduana FC because he took the fans for granted. Accra Hearts of Oak dropped vital points in their week 9 encounter against Aduana FC which robbed them of the top position after Otoo missed the first-half penalty. One fan wondered why Mahatma Otoo showed no seriousness before kicking the ball, claiming he was too lackadaisical in his approach. But Hearts PRO, Albert Commey speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Thursday said there was no way one of the most disciplined players in their outfit could disrespect the club. The penalty miss was unfortunate not only for the club but also the player and so it is better we support him to quickly bounce from the bizarre situation, he added. According to him the support from the fans will help him move from his current situation and give of his best to the club in subsequent matches.
