Sporting Director of premier division side, Tema Youth, Winfred Osei Palmer has vowed to take the Secretary of Berekum Arsenals, Douglas Effah to the Ethics Committee of the FA to substantiate bribery allegations he leveled against Tema Youth.
Berekum Arsenals lost 2-1 to Tema Youth in their Week 10 clash of the ongoing Glo Premier League but officials of Berekum Arsenals believe the result could have been different had officiating been fair.
The secretary of Berekum Arsenals in an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Monday had accused Referee Sylvester Dozoru of taking a bribe from their opponents to influence the game.
The referee took “something big” knowing that Christmas was fast approaching and that was why he made a mess of himself on the day, Mr. Effah alleged. When asked why his outfit will not report to the GFA Review Committee, he said he had no confidence in them because they are incompetent.
But in a sharp reaction, Mr. Osei Palmer said he found Mr. Effah's comments unfortunate and wondered why he would go that far.
According to Palmer, this ruckus between Berekum Arsenals and Tema Youth has continued for far too long and does not know what the former wants from his club (Tema Youth) that every time they want to drag their name into disrepute.
Consequently, he was going to take Mr. Effah to the Ethics Committee to prove where and when he saw Tema Youth paying the bribe.
