The Rotary Club, is not a secret society as is being misconstrued by some people, but rather a group seeking to provide humanitarian services, and to create a peaceful environment for development. The group, made up of business persons and professionals, is opened to anyone willing to embrace core values of promoting ethics and building goodwill and friendship for progress of society.Mr Anas Sulemana, President of Rotary Club of Tamale, said these at the President's gala, organized for its members and the press in Tamale on Wednesday. He said the association had implemented projects on water and sanitation, polio immunization and education, especially in the rural communities.Mr Sulemana said the media was significant in the promotion of social harmony and peace, and advised journalists to be circumspect in their reportage. He said the Club was planning to award media houses in the region which had performed creditably in informing and educating the public on social, political and economic issues.Mr Joseph Mumuni, former President of the Club, called on development-oriented people to join the club.
