Information available to Myjoyonline.com indicates that the beleaguered deputy head of the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Police CID, DSP Gifty Mawuenyegah Tehoda, has been re-arrested.
The Bureau of National Investigations arrested and detained her on December 29, 2011 over her role in the cocaine-turned-baking-soda saga.
But DSP Mawuenyegah Tehoda was released early Friday after an Accra Human Rights Court granted her bail on Thursday to the tune of GH¢50,000.
The BNI had hinted that DSP Mawuenyegah was likely to be re-arrested, intimating that she is a key suspect in unraveling the mystery behind the cocaine-swap incident.
Her lawyer, Oliver Dzeble told Joy News' Dzifa Bampoh that her client was invited to the BNI offices when she went to the police headquarters in Accra to have a meeting with her superiors.
However, he could not confirm if DSP Mawuenyegah has been re-arrested.
Although he was yet to establish contact with his client, he described the latest development as "worrying".
