A meeting between the Deputy Health Minister, Rojo Mettle Nunoo and the Executives of the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has ended in a deadlock as both parties failed to reach an agreement.
In an exclusive interview with Joy News Television, Mr. Mettle Nunoo said the Ministry is taking the necessary initiatives to resolve the impasse but noted a number of issues must be resolved to pave way for an amicable solution.
He was hopeful an agreement will be reached by the close of Wednesday.
General Secretary of GHOSPA, Franklyn Acheampong, said the Association will call off the strike after the leadership has communicated the outcome of the meeting to its members.
President of GHOSPA, Stephen Corquaye is also hopeful the involvement of the sector Ministry in finding a resolution to the impasse will lead to a speedy resolve.
The pharmacists have been on strike for the past three days protesting what they claim to be unfair migration to the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) for members.
