The 2012 Ghana Music Awards is underway. The introductory performance was just splendid as Cwesi Oteng teams up with legendary Lord Kenya to perform his hit song God Dey Bless Me. Backed by a choir, the two thrilled with an electrifying performance warming the venue to the expected temperature. Officials of accounting firm, KPMG, the events statisticians, hand over results for the various categories of the awards to co-host of the awards, Chris Attoh on stage. Co-host of this year's awards, Funny Face is introduced by Chris Attoh. Funny Face was quick to work showing off his Azonto skills. Funny Face will be the host of Ghana Music Awards (GMA) TV interviewing winners of the night. Hi-Life great Ben Brako teams up rapper Yaa Pono to rock the auditorium. After an impressive collaboration, gospel songstress Gifty Osei was next. She rocked the stage with her song Fefefe spicing it up with her christozonto moves. Gospel music diva, Ohemaa Mercy presents first award of the night, Gospel Song of the year, to Selina Boateng for her song Me Nku Me Ho. Actor Adjetey Annan (Pusher) and actress Lydia Forson present the award for Reggae Song of the year to Blakk Rasta for his song Miss Right while Kwabena Maphia walks away with the Highlife Song of the year with the song I Go Pay. Zigi wins Afro-Pop Song of the year with U Say Wey Tin. Boxer Joseph Agbeko and songstress Eazzy present Kwaw Kese with the Hiphop Song of the year award for his song Poppin. Kwaw's manager, Fennec Okyere receives the award on his behalf. Dancehall artistes, Kaaki and Stonebouy took turns to thrill after that award. The presentation of the next award, Hi-Life Artiste of the year, hit a snag. There was a mix-up with the nominees for that category forcing the presenter of the award, Appietus, to shift blame for the mishap onto organizers of the awards, Charter House.
