The Asokwa Police in Ashanti Region have detained one person following the mysterious death of two children in a vehicle at Kotwie in Kumasi.
The siblings named only as Emmanuel 4, and his junior sister, Akosua 2, were found dead in a vehicle at a hospital in Kumasi, Saturday.
The deceased are said to be the only children of Mr Patrick Acheampong and Beatrice Osei both of who are workers of the hospital.
Superintendent Emmanuel Akunor, District Commander for Asokwa told Joy News police have intensified investigations into the death of the two children.
He suspected no foul play but said the owner of the vehicle who is also a worker of the hospital, a laboratory technician, has been detained and is assisting with investigations.
Kofi Asante from Nhyira FM reported the family is in a state of shock and disbelieve.
According to him, the children as always were playing at the hospital as they waited for the parents to close so they could go home together.
They however found themselves locked up in the vehicle and later seen dead.
The couple had been married for six years, Asante learnt, with the deceased said to be their only children.
They had struggled to get a baby after two years of marriage and later blessed with two but both young lives were obliterated in one day and in one mysterious circumstance.
Family members have gathered at the residence of the couple, commiserating with them on a sad event.
