Consultants at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have resumed work. The over hundred consultants withdrew their special services for four days to demand payment of nine months salary arrears. The decision to return to the wards follows a meeting with authorities on Thursday. The consultants who number about 100 double as teachers at the medical school of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and as supervisors of junior doctors at the hospital Spokesperson for the consultants, Dr Frank Ankobeah, told Joy News they have assurance their allowances will be paid in time. “We had a very long discussion with the Vice Chancellor, based on this and the fact that we ourselves don’t enjoy withdrawing our services; that is what we know best, that is what we do best. So putting all these things together, we said the goodwill is there.”
