Hearts of Oak will be aiming for their first win of the season when they come up against Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast stadium on Thursday.

The Phobians have had a poor start to the campaign, having failed to win in each of their first two games of the season.

Coach Henry Wellington has endured a torrid start to life as Hearts manager following a lacklustre 1-1 draw with newly-promoted side Eleven Wonders and another spiritless 3-1 loss to Ashanti Gold.

However, there is a chance for redemption when the Phobians travel to face Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday in week three of the Ghana Premier League.

A win, though, will not come easy as the Dwarfs are currently on a good run of form. In two games this season, the club is yet to lose, having won one and drawn the other.

The ‘Mysterious’ club currently sits in the fifth position on the league log, and were particularly impressive against Wa All Stars last week, becoming the first club to prevent the Wa-based side from scoring in a home game in over a year.

Against Hearts of Oak, the Dwarfs are set to face their biggest test yet, especially with the Phobians desperately in need of the three points.

Having fallen off the pace in the race for the title this early in the season, Hearts currently find themselves in 14th position and in the relegation zone.

A win against the Dwarfs could just be what the Phobians need to kickstart their season, after churning out two lifeless performances in their previous games.

Coach Wellington will take solace from the fact that Hearts have not lost to Ebusua Dwarfs in their last two meetings, and will be hoping that that run will continue on Wednesday.

However, this Dwarfs team boasts much more quality than last season’s and, with a top-four finish being a realistic target, Hearts of Oak will definitely not have it easy, especially with the Phobians currently badly out of form.
