The Akyempim Rural Bank, the third largest rural bank in the Central Region with its headquarters at Gomoa Dawurampong has launched three new products to enhance its operations.
The products were the Ghana @ 50, One for six and "Gye-bi-ka-ho" promotions.
Mr Jacob Wellington Assan, General Manager of the Bank, said this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview after a short ceremony on Wednesday at Dawurampong.
He explained that the Ghana @ 50 product and the two other ones were initiated in January to April, June-July and September-October this year respectively.
Mr Assan pointed out that the products were launched for mainly business executives, salaried workers and other customers of the bank to expand and initiate private ventures and income generating activities.
He stated that the management and staff had put in place plans to compete with the big banks in the area especially at Agona Swedru.
Mr Assan said gone were the days, when Bank Managers sat in their offices for customers to approach them for banking transactions, adding that, strategies had been adopted to increase its deposit and embark on daily banking with market women and fish mongers in the area.
The General Manager disclosed that the removal of restrictions on rural banks by Bank of Ghana (BOG) next year would boost their operations to cover more customers.
He assured customers that the management and staff backed by the Board of Directors would work hard to grant them more credit facilities.
Mr Assan advised the customers to utilize the opportunity offered by the management to expand their businesses and to pay their children's school fees.
