Mr. Daniel Ansah Duah, Manager of the Nkoranza Kwabre Rural Bank, has commended the Bank of Ghana on the education campaign that preceded the redenomination exercise and said it contributed to the success of the exercise.
Mr. Duah told the Ghana News Agency that he was glad illiterates in the bank’s operational areas could do business with both the new and the old currencies.
He said except at the initial stages when people crowded the bank’s premises to change over the old for the new currencies, the bank had not experienced any problem with customers.
Mr Duah said Ghanaians showed maturity and reminded the public about the transition period and advised those who are keeping large sums of the old currencies to deposit them at the banks.
