The newly established public university in the Bono Ahafo region is blaming its failure to admit students as scheduled on the late release of results by the West African Examination Council. The university was expected to begin admission first week in September after being granted the accreditation to begin academic work this month. But the Pro-Vice chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Professor Daniel Obeng Ofori told Joy News admissions will now begin in the third week of September for its three registered Bachelor of Science programmes because of the delays. “Normally those who have done the exams will have to wait for their results. The results have now come. So we have now received them. We are going to do the admissions around the third week in September," he told Joy News. He said the first batch of students will report by September 30 with lectures set to begin in October. The University is looking to admit 200 students.
