The Ghana League Clubs Association have confirmed the cancellation of this year’s TOP 4 tournament.
GHALCA have explained their inability to put together this year’s tournament after failing to secure the Accra and Kumasi stadia.
“We had to let it go because we received a letter from the National Sports Council indicating the unavailability of the stadium due to some undergoing works,” Executive Member of GHALCA Albert Commey told JOY Sports in an interview
“There is also the issue of the tightness of the calendar with respect to the start of the Premier League and the preceding (GFA) ordinary congress session.
“So we decided to let it go this year to give us ample time to prepare for next year.”
This year’s event would have seen premier league champions Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold, Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC compete for the ultimate.
