Joy News can confirm that former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama is currently at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Very reliable sources say he was rushed there over the week end for treatment of a condition that cannot be made public until doctors attending to him have the permission to allow disclosure.
He is in the intensive care unit but reports say he is in a stable condition now.
This comes after President John Mahama took a lot of flak for asking Muslims at the Eid prayer ceremony, barely two weeks ago, to pray for the former veep who could not attend the event because of ill health.
Joy News will bring you more details about his condition when they are available.
