Parliament has postponed its scheduled emergency recall from September 10 to 24, 2018.
The House was expected to be recalled from recess next week for a week-long sitting to consider some emergency businesses.
According to the Majority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the postponement had become necessary due to a string of new engagements that must be attended by the leadership of the house.
“The Speaker is sending myself, the first Deputy Speaker and the Minority Leader to Indonesia over the weekend. There is a world forum that we have to attend. It was not on the cards before we adjourned so we have to go this weekend.”
“The Speaker himself has also been invited to Korea next week, which is why we have now rescheduled to the 24th of September,” the Majority Leader told the media.
