The remains of former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, has arrived in Ghana from Switzerland where he died on August 18, 2018.
Ghana is ready for elaborate funeral rites that will precede the burial on Thursday.
The body of the late Secretary-General is being accompanied by his wife, Nane Maria, children and some UN officials.

The remains was received with a brief ceremony led by the Ghana Armed Forces and President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Kotoka International Airport where journalists – foreign and local – have already pitched camp.

The body will then be moved to the 37 Military Hospital from the Airport.
The public will be allowed to file past and pay their last respect at the Accra International Conference Centre on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
On Thursday, a solemn Burial Service and final interment will be held.
The service will be attended by UN Officials, Heads of State, Diplomatic delegations and the general public.
There will also be a private burial at midday on Thursday at the Military Cemetery with full military honours and a 17-gun salute.
