The Oforikrom Office of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in Kumasi has been temporarily closed down for security reasons.Mr Evans Ablordeppey, NYEP Coordinator, said the decision which was taken on the advice of the police, was to ensure the safety of the workers. The office would, therefore, commence operation as soon as they are given the go ahead by the police. The development comes as a stray bullet hit the office at about 1400 hours on Friday. None of the workers got hurt.Mr. Ablordeppey, who briefed newsmen in Kumasi on Sunday on the issue, called on the workers to remain calm as the police investigate the issue. The office was said to have been thrown into a state of shock as the stray bullet penetrated the roof of the office, forcing the workers to run helter-skelter.
