Myjoyonline.com, Ghana's comprehensive news website has been adjudged the best Online media in Ghana at the 3rd Ghana UK Based Achievement Awards (GUBA) held at Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, Sunday.
Myjoyonline.com fended off competition from other six online news portals in Ghana - Peacefmonline.com, Ghanaweb.com, ModernGhana.com, Ghanacelebrities.com, Dailyguideghana.com and entertainment blogger Ameyawdebrah.com.
The recognition by GUBA adds to the numerous awards Myjoyonline.com has chalked up over the years as it continues to provide compelling and comprehensive news stories to both Ghanaians and those in the diaspora.
The GUBA award comes barely a fortnight after Myjoyonline.com unveiled its comprehensive Election 2012 portal.
Renowned Investment Broker, Sam Ankrah, Business Mogul Sam Jonah and Chief Executive of RLG Roland Agambire also received special honors at the Awards.
Mr. Agambire told Myjoyonline.com that “awards like this will spur me on in my quest to create one million jobs for the youth in Ghana."
He said it was humbling that people in the diaspora also recognize his contribution to the Ghanaian economy.
Mr. Sam Ankrah told Joy Business's George Wiafe who picked the award on behalf of Myjoyonline.com that the award will motivate him to do more, adding that his investment firm is looking forward to replicate what he has done in Ghana in other African countries.
He hopes to establish new offices in other African countries, like South and East Africa.
The awards seek to recognize businesses and individuals who are flying the flag of Ghana in their chosen fields as well as those who are providing exceptional services to Ghanaians.
