The Supreme Court has, by a unanimous decision, dismissed a case brought against the Electoral Commission (EC) challenging the constitutionality of its move to create 45 new constituencies.
The Plaintiff, Greater Accra Bar President Frank Davies, argued that CI 78 cannot come into effect until the next dissolution of Parliament.
He therefore asked the Court to prevent the EC from including the new constituencies' races on the 2012 ballot.
However, the Judges were of the view that his position was misconceived.
