The Police Hospital has suspended new admissions as it shuts down for a four-day fumigation exercise, Friday.
Public Relations Officer for the hospital, DSP Yaw Nketiah-Yeboah, said the Out Patients Department (OPD), surgical, maternity mortuary and pharmacy will remain shut until Tuesday, October 2.
According to him, dead bodies in the hospital’s morgue are being transferred to other facilities while patients on admission have also been moved to other hospitals to continue treatment.
DSP Nketiah-Yeboah who gave the details just before the exercise begun Friday said, “our clients have been told to go to 37 Military Hospital, Ridge Hospital, SSNIT Trust Hospital and all the nearby hospitals for their emergency services otherwise you come around on October 2.”
According to him, for police personnel and their dependents who are less 18 years old, provisions have been made at the License Office Clinic at Service Workshop as well as the National Police Training at Tesano for emergency treatment.
“Doctors, nurses and other paramedics, as well as two ambulances, have been stationed at these hospitals for the use of these people.
“We are appealing to all members of the Ghana Police Service to heed to this so it is a successful exercise,” he said.
