The NHIS has once again chalked another success winning the ‘Outstanding Health Insurance Initiative and Innovation’ awarded by The West African Regional Magazine. The institute was described as a beacon for providing sustainable, progressive and equitable social health insurance scheme in Africa and beyond.
The NHIS was chosen under the category of competence, focus and performing organisations.
Mr. Sylvester Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the NHIA also received a special award for being the Leading CEO in The Public Sector of Ghana at the same event organised by The West African Regional Magazine on the 28th of November 2012 at the Accra International Conference Centre. He was selected from an array of top corporate achievers in both public and private institutions across the West African sub region.
The West African Regional magazine established in 2006 is committed to highlighting achievements and initiatives in the sub region to the international community with the sole aim of opening up the region to investors from all over the world. The West African Regional magazine began an annual celebration of top achievers in the region and according to the publisher, Rossette Aliu, the purpose of the awards is to recognize and appreciate outstanding personalities or corporate bodies in the region who have in their various fields stood out in excellence.
Other recipients for the night included Zenith Bank, Jislah Financial Services, Devtracco Ltd, Golden Tulip Kumasi, CDH Financial Holdings, Mohinani Group of Companies, Kingdom Books & Stationeries, Ghana Aids Commission and others from the West African sub region.
