Beautiful Beneath has become the latest force to join hands with some of health NGOs to step up the campaign against breast cancer and other related health issues.
The company, which is a leading dealer in ladies' lingerie and sports apparels, recently organised a breast screening exercise at its office in East Legon in Accra.
Breast and cervical cancers are among some of the life-threatening health dangers women face today and Beautiful Beneath hopes to firm up efforts to aid their control.
The East Legon-based company partnered with some institutions to assemble health professionals and civil society groups to campaign against breast cancer and find possible ways of stimulating their control.
The programme, which brought medical personnel from some of the leading health facilities, screened over 1,000 women including the elderly.
After the exercise, persons diagnosed with complications were referred to specialised hospitals for treatment.
The event was part of activities to mark the annual breast cancer awareness week.
A new health facility, Aegies Health Care, was also outdoored at the event as a reliable partner to boost the care for women.
Speaking at the programme, CEO and Founder of Beautiful Beneath, Juliet Gymfi, described the program as a dream come true.
According to her, the idea was developed some years ago to support the global campaign to kick against breast cancer out of the world.
“We pledge today that our entry into the area of fight against breast cancer is not for this year but a fight we are well prepared to fight until breast cancer is finally kicked out,” said Juliet Gyamfi
She disclosed that Ghanaians should expect something bigger and better in the coming years as they have stepped into the field of awareness.
AEGIS health care is equipped with the needed health assistants, nurses, caregivers and gadgets to give comfort to clients irrespective of their religious affiliation, race and health condition.
She added that the company is set to take care of people who cannot take care of themselves -- elderly, young or persons with disability.
Management of Beautiful Beneath presented GHS5,000,00 to the president of Pink for Africa, a breast cancer foundation, Mrs Juliette Mills Lutterodt, to enable her to carry out her activities.
EuraCare, one of the new entrants in the healthcare industry which partnered the organisers also offered 50 per cent discount vouchers to participants on any service
Beautiful Beneath is a ladies' lingerie and sports apparel business that was established a year ago.
The company is concerned about women’s health and has set the month of October as breast month.
As part of activities planned for the month, the company will have a daily free breast measure for the right size bras for all ladies until the end of the month.
