Professor Nii Otu Nartey, Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, has announced his retirement from office with effect from January 1, 2013.
According to him, the Board of the Hospital has appointed Professor Afua Hesse, Director of Medical Affairs, to act as the Chief Administrator.
Professor Otu Nartey said this at the second end of year’s awards ceremony for the hospital staff over the weekend.
The Award was to appreciate the contributions of staff in the various departments for their contributions towards the progress of the Hospital.
He also noted that he would not be entirely missing in the health sector as he would proceed to serve as a lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School to contribute his knowledge and wealth of experience to students’ professional development.
“I want to urge all staff to continue to show commitment, dedication and good attitudes in the discharge of your duties. Let us bury the spirits of apathy and laziness and rather uphold oneness, teamwork and mutual respect. “
Professor Otu expressed gratitude to the Board, Management and staff of the Hospital for the unflinching support throughout his tenure of office, calling on them to accordingly Offer the needed support to the new CEO.
He advised the staff to continue to show commitment, dedication and good attitudes in the discharge of duties.
In all, staff from various departments like Pharmacy, Diagnostics, Administration, Transport, Orderlies, among others received awards with Madam AliceAfi Adjormadoh, Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Surgical Medical Unit awarded the overall best staff.
