Police at Asamankese in the Eastern Region have found the body of a third child allegedly killed by their mother, Helena Zikor who is said to be mentally retarded.
The suspect, a 28-year old is alleged to have murdered her children at Sanahin, a suburb of Asamankese under unknown circumstances.
She was arrested earlier for the murder of two children, but further investigations revealed that her 3-year old son, Enoch Tetteh was also killed thus bringing the number to three.
According to DSP Yaya Muntinero, the two children were murdered on the 24th of December whereas Enoch Tetteh was murdered on the 25th of December.
“A mentally derailed patient murdered two children. Further investigations revealed that his own son Enoch Tetteh age 3 years was also hurt by the mother and he also died on the 25th. The first incident happened on the 24th and the last one was on the 25th,” he said.
