The NDC Professionals Women have lauded Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for her groundbreaking achievement as Ghana’s first female Vice President.
The group described her ascent to this high office as a monumental victory for gender equity and a source of inspiration for women across Ghana and beyond.
The statement stressed that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s achievement marks a new era for women’s representation in leadership.

The NDC Professionals Women particularly highlighted key policies introduced under Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s leadership that aim to uplift women and girls nationwide.
These include the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank and the provision of free sanitary pads for schoolgirls.
“These initiatives signify a commitment to empowering women economically and ensuring the dignity and well-being of young girls—a cause close to the hearts of all Ghanaian women,” the statement said.
The Women’s Development Bank, hailed as a transformative policy, is set to enhance women’s access to capital, empowering female entrepreneurs to thrive and contribute significantly to the national economy.
Similarly, the sanitary pad policy addresses a pressing challenge faced by many young girls, enabling uninterrupted education and advancing gender equality in schools.
As Ghana embarks on this historic journey, the NDC Professionals Women expressed optimism about Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s tenure and her ability to champion equity and inclusivity.
