A 27-year-old driver who was standing trial for defiling a 15-year-old girl at Kyekyebiase near Konongo, has told the Juaso Circuit Court that he had sex with his victim on her own volition since she requested for it.
William Amoateng, charged with defilement, had to change his plea from not guilty to guilty.
The court presided over by Mr Jacob Boon sentenced him to seven years imprisonment in hard labour.
Police Detective Sergeant Emmanuel Atatsi, prosecuting told the court that the victim lived with her mother at the outskirts of Kyekyebiase while Amoateng is also resident at Kyekyebiase.
He said on January 25, the mother of the victim went to Kyekyebiase to visit a relative and Amoateng went to the house and proposed love to the victim but she rejected it on the grounds that she was not matured and informed her mother about it.
The next day when the mother had travelled to Kumasi Amoateng went to the house and forcibly had sex with the victim.
The prosecutor said after the act, Amoateng left the victim who bled profusely. A report was made to the police when the victim’s mother returned and Amoateng was arrested.
