Globacom Chairman, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr, Monday redeemed the promise he made to reward Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, with two brand new cars for leading Nigeria to victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
While handing over the keys of the cars, (the latest Range Rover Sports and Toyota Camry saloon car), to Keshi in Lagos, Globacom’s Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mohamed Jameel observed that the Eagles head coach’s AFCON victory in South Africa, symbolised the new philosophy of Globacom, Unlimited.
“The victory of the Coach Stephen Keshi tutored team underscores the ability of human beings to triumph over odds,” said Jameel.
He noted that the Super Eagles’ victory at the last Nation’s Cup was won by a dint of hard work, determination and can-do spirit.
Jameel enjoined Keshi to continue to strive for excellence as he prepares the Super Eagles for future competitions like the Confederation Cup and the qualification for 2014 World Cup.
“By rewarding Keshi, Dr Adenuga has passed a strong message to Nigerians that they would be rewarded and honoured if they selflessly undertake any national assignment they were entrusted with and excel,” said Jameel.
He promised that Globacom would continue to support the nation’s football teams through thick and thin as it had done over the years.
Responding, highly elated Stephen Keshi thanked Dr. Adenuga for his numerous supports for the national teams and prayed for continuous success for Globacom. He said that the kind gestures would spur them to achieve more laurels for the country.
“I am short of words. I thank Dr Adenuga for these gifts. I cannot give him dollars, but I can only offer prayers. May God continue to give him good health, long life and prosperity. I also thank my Assistants: Sylvanus Okpala, Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorunmu who made the victory happen by doing the graphics. I am only their spokesman,” said Keshi.
