The Confederation of African Amputee Football has confirmed Egypt's rescheduling of the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) 2024 tournament to May due to 'circumstances beyond their control'.
The 2024 edition of the event was set to take place in Cairo, Egypt from April 19 to 28 this year.
In a letter released by the President of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, Leonel de Rocha Pinto, it is impossible to begin the tournament this month because the teams did not send their information on time.
16 African teams will be vying for top honours in Cairo this year and it will also decide which teams will qualify for the WAFF World Cup 2026.
Defending champions Ghana are in group C with Kenya, Gambia and Algeria.
