Africa's youngest Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister, Emma Inamutila Theofelus would travel from Namibia to participate in the 6th Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana.
She would join a host of other dignitaries who would grace the fair scheduled from Sunday, November 26, to Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Jubilee Park.
27-year-old Ms. Theofulus who serves as the Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology and Member of Parliament for Endola Constituency in Namibia, was invited by the planning committee to grace the fair, as one of the special guests.
She is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 2nd Volta Young Entrepreneurs Summit on Saturday, December 2 in Ho, pay courtesy calls to some traditional rulers, and visit various tourist sites.
The Eastern, Volta & Oti Regional Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries, Dela Gadzanku, said the move is aimed at deepening the bilateral ties between the two commonwealth nations.
He is optimistic Ms. Theofulus's presence and engagements would serve as an inspiration to the youth to aspire for greater heights and not be deterred by their age.
He expressed gratitude to the young minister for honoring the invitation to participate in the 6th Volta Fair themed “Leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area for economic development."
This year's Volta Fair is being organized in collaboration with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Ghana Tourism Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Ministry of Railway Development, and National Coordinating Office of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The rest of the institutions are the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Ghana Free Zones Authority, Kenya Export Promotion & Branding Agency, and the Volta Development Forum, among others.
The Ghana Exim Bank, Bank of Ghana, Absa Bank, GOIL, Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority, National Insurance Commission, Stanbic Bank, SIC Insurance Plc, ADB Bank, Kenya Airways, and Adonai Golf City, have provided sponsorship packages to make the fair a memorable one.
