In an effort to foster agricultural innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices, Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of crops, inaugurated the third edition of the Agritech West Africa exhibition, alongside the Food & Beverage Ghana and FoodPack Tech Ghana exhibitions.
The event, held at the Accra International Conference Center from March 19 to 21, 2024, served as a catalyst for discussions on the transformative power of storage infrastructure in revolutionizing agribusiness.
Indian High Commission to Ghana, Manish Gupta graced the inaugural ceremony emphasising the enduring partnership between India and Ghana, with a focus on technology infusion to enhance agricultural output for export. With India's commitment to providing modern equipment, the aim is for Ghana to achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture within the next five years.

Yaw Frimpong commended Wegvoraus Exhibitions for its significant contribution to Ghana's agricultural development. He urged for its continuation till the end of the phase 2 of the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) programme, emphasising its comprehensive nature, particularly beneficial for small farm-holders seeking networking opportunities with fellow farmers and manufacturers.
The Minister also underscored the importance of food security and reiterated the government's dedication to supporting small-scale farmers.
The expo was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade & Industry of Ghana with the valuable assistance of the West African Chamber of Agriculture (WACOA), Croplife Ghana, Association of Ghana Industries, Ghana Union of Traders Association, Food & Beverage Association of Ghana, Farmer Organisation Network of Ghana, Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters, Guzakuza & many regional farmers’ cooperative and groups.

The Agritech West Africa with Food & Beverage and FoodPack Tech Ghana exhibitions cover the entire value chain of agriculture industry under one roof with about 100 companies exhibiting from India, Jordan, Denmark,Turkey, Nigeria, Ghana, UK, Italy, France, Spain and others, representing multiple product segments like agrochemicals, agriculture technology, irrigation, biofeeds, food processing and packaging technologies, food innovation, processed and packed food & beverage items.
The expo provides a platform for exhibitors to engage with approximately 5000 Ghanaian and West African business and professional visitors. Attendees included stakeholders from agribusiness sectors, commercial and small farmers, farmer groups, food & beverage industries, importers, distributors, wholesalers, and retail chains
The event facilitated valuable collaborations between companies from different countries and Ghanaian and West African business partners. It served as an avenue for introducing new products and innovations, fostering business partnerships, and facilitating knowledge sharing in agriculture and food processing packaging.
