Airtel, Ghana’s fastest growing telecommunications network has rewarded its cherished customers with free voice, internet and SMS as the company’s way of recompensing customers for their patience during a network interruption that affected some customers on 10th March 2016.
The interruption was caused by a technical fault during a routine network upgrade.
Dubbed ‘Airtel Gift”, the Smartphone Network offered all customers the opportunity to enjoy voice, data and SMS free of all charges from 8am to 12 midnight on Friday 11th March 2016. Customers were required to subscribe to Airtel Gift via the short code *202# to enjoy the freebies.
Speaking to the network interruption and the reward to customers, Airtel Ghana’s Marketing Director, Rosy Fynn, said “We sincerely apologize for the service interruption some customers experienced on our Network on Thursday 10th March.
It was a technical fault that came up during a routine network upgrade. We are a company that ensures the highest standards and strives to delight customers at all times.
To say thank you to our customers for their patience during the service outage, we are offering them free communication – comprising free voice, data and SMS on our network on Friday 11th March.
She continued “we would like to extend our sincere apologies to customers, who were impacted, for the inconvenience caused during the interruption.
We also want to thank them for their patience and loyalty. As a network that believes in delivering unmatched quality services to customers, we will continue to work tirelessly to maintain the trust customers have in us”.
She urged customers to contact Airtel’s call centers on 100 for any assistance.
