President Nana Akufo-Addo has lauded Ghana's successful 2024 election, describing it as a testament to the nation’s enduring democratic resilience.
He noted that the peaceful and transparent electoral process highlights the strength and maturity of Ghana’s democratic institutions.
Speaking during the commissioning of a newly constructed office complex for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on Tuesday, 17th December, the President remarked that the election results have further bolstered Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy on the African continent.
He expressed pride in the nation’s ability to uphold its democratic values amidst challenging global political landscapes.
President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his belief in Ghana’s firmly established democracy, expressing optimism about its continued growth and consolidation in the years ahead.
He called on all Ghanaians to remain committed to protecting and nurturing the democratic principles that underpin the nation’s progress.
“The successful conduct of the presidential and parliamentary elections on 7 December 2024 stands as a testament to the resilience of our democracy."
“The peaceful nature of the electoral process and the gracious concession of Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP presidential candidate, are powerful reminders that democracy remains the foundation of our progress and national unity," he said.
