Midfielder Andre Dede Ayew will miss the Black Stars World Cup quarter final clash with Uruguay.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Akua Sena Dansua, confirmed this to Joy Sports.
This comes after the FIFA Disciplinary Committee turned down an appeal made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to cancel the yellow card shown to the player.
The GFA immediately after the match requested to have referee Viktor Kassai’s decision looked into again and overturned.
But the FIFA Disciplinary Committee pointed out that according to Article 72 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, disciplinary decisions taken by the referee during matches are final.
