An indigenous airline, Antrak Air has effective Friday, February 2, added Sunyani to its domestic routes.
Antrak is one of two domestic airline operators plying Accra-Kumasi and Accra-Tamale.
But as patronage for domestic flights gathers steam, the operators are exploring new opportunities. The airline owned by the transport magnate Asuma Banda will fly four times a week to the Brong Ahafo regional capital.
The decision to fly to Sunyani followed increased activity in that part of the country by non-governmental organizations and mining companies.
It was also part of an expansion programme, which had seen the airline fly to Germany in partnership with a German airline.
