Founder and Executive Chairman of the Africa Prosperity Network, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has revealed that this year’s Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD 2026) will dedicate a full afternoon to celebrating and empowering African women, featuring leaders from across the continent.

Speaking on Joy FM’s AM Show, Otchere-Darko said the “Women Prosperity Dialogue” will bring together African Union commissioners, political leaders, first ladies, and business executives from sectors including mining, banking, agriculture, and cocoa production.

“We have the opening ceremony in the afternoon and then the whole afternoon is dedicated to women… We have women making it in cocoa, coffee, cosmetics and other sectors, scaling their businesses not just in Africa but across the world,” he explained.

The dialogue is part of APD 2026, scheduled for 4–6 February 2026 in Accra, and will feature prominent figures such as CEOs from major African companies and leading women entrepreneurs from Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Participants will share insights on growing businesses, navigating cross-border trade, and expanding access to the African single market.

This year’s theme, “Empowering Women and Youth in the Single Market: Innovate, Collaborate, Trade”, reflects a deliberate effort to highlight the key drivers of Africa’s economy.

Organisers say the focus on women and youth aims to encourage innovation, cross-border collaboration, and sustainable trade practices that benefit the continent at large.

Otchere-Darko noted that the event will provide a platform for women in diverse industries — from agriculture to cosmetics — to showcase their achievements, discuss challenges, and inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs.

The initiative also aligns with broader African Union and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) efforts to promote economic integration, entrepreneurship, and gender equity.
