The Joy 99.7 FM fun-filled Christmas outing program, Family Party in the Park, is currently ongoing at Accra’s lush Legon Botanical Garden.
The event held annually to help foster bonds among family and create new friends as the Christmas holiday approaches, this year is packed with lots of activities for patrons making their way to the venue.
This year’s live band would feature one of the celebrated local bands Kwan Pa and award-winning rapper, Edem.
The Cooking competition will feature some of your favourite Joy FM on-air personalities including Gary Al-Smith from the Joy Sports team; host of the Super Morning Show, Daniel Dadzie; host of Drive Time, Lexis Bill and Sammy Forson, host of the Overdrive and Weekend City Show.

Some of your favourite DJs would be playing including DJ Black, Sammy Forson, DJ Bridash, DJ Wobete and Ignatious Agyabeng.
Other activities include a Jollof festival, family karaoke sessions, Nine lessons and carol, sporting activities and many more.
Sammy Forson, host of the Weekend City show on Drive Time introduces the patrons to some of the activities that would take place in the course of the day.
Patrons are registering their kids for the sack race competition.
Some kids are already having fun on the bouncy castles and the balloon climbs.

Up next is the dancing competition 💃💃💃🕺 🕺 🕺 .
Michelle, Selma, Nana Yaa, Marian, Dictus, Lois, Larissa, Linda, Doreen and Nana K are the contestants in this dance challenge.
Winners are chosen by the patrons. Contestants who are unable to make it to the final stage will be given souvenirs from Dolait Yoghurt.
The nine lessons and carol is currently ongoing. Families are aiming for the title of ultimate champion in this competition. This competition is hosted by Lexis Bill.
Kwam Pa is taking over the airwaves with their melodious voices while the cooking competition kicks off.
Also, the families have been tasked to find the treasures hidden in the garden, in the Vodafone Treasure Hunt competition.
Meanwhile, Santa Klaus is already seated and kids have queued up to greet him, take pictures and earn themselves a gift.
The sack race competition has taken off. After the kids compete, mothers would also have their turn to compete against each other for the Vodafone prize.
Fastest fingers game is on. This time instead of airtime, patrons are tasked to identify a body part as fast as possible when its mentioned. Parents are compering to win a voucher to the Labadi Beach hotel.
Meanwhile, JoyNews’ Evans Mensah, Lexis Bill, Sammy Forson and others are still trying to put their best touches to their versions of Jollof rice.
Evans prepared the Braised Journalistic Jollof, Lexis the Copatetic Jollof and Cardi B, Sammy Forson and his team also prepared what he calls Sam’s Happy Jollof with chicken. According to him, when you eat the Jollof, you become happy. The final contestant Akwasi Boakye also prepared the Just Kill It Jollof.
