Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan scored both goals to rescue his club Al Ain as they rallied to hold Banni Yas in the UAE Pro League on Sunday.The Black Stars attacker’s brace takes him to third on the scorers’ chart in the UAE having scored five goals in as many games.The home side raced into the lead on six minutes when Senegalese striker Andre Senghor Kobolini opened the scoring.But the Ghanaian international responded seven minutes later with a fine finish to draw the visitors level at the Bani Yas Stadium.Bani Yas were back in front two minutes before half-time thanks to strike by their Syrian defender Fawzi Bashir.Gyan hit back four minutes after the break when he restored parity after converting a penalty kick.The result took Al Ain to second on the table after five matches with 11 points – five behind leaders Al Jazira, who have played one match more than their closest rivals.Gyan has revived the fortunes of Al Ain since he arrived from Sunderland on a one-season world record loan deal.They were struggling before he arrived September but he revived the confidence around the team and his presence has helped to improve the team’s standing.
