Police at Asawasi in Kumasi are investigating the murder of a 57-year- old pharmacy shop proprietor.
Maxwell Owusu, who operates two pharmacy shops, was shot at what police say was close range by unknown assailants at Aboabo Number Two on Sunday night.
His body was discovered in front of his shop the next morning with a wound in the abdomen, following a report by his wife.
Though residents suspect it was act by robbers, police sources say all his belongings including cash and mobile phones were intact at the time they visited the scene.
It is not clear why Mr. Owusu who left behind two wives and thirteen children was murdered.
One of the widows suspects three unknown men on motorbike who called at the deceased’s residence at Atwima-Twedie to look for her now late husband.
Police say the deceased was shot with a short gun, with pellets embedded in the body.
Medical sources at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have confirmed Mr. Owusu died from gunshot wounds, after profuse bleeding.
