Broadcast Journalist with Asempa 94.7 FM, Enoch Kwesi Worlanyo, has been honoured for his contribution towards the promotion of sports in the country.
The Multimedia Group journalist popularly known on-air as ‘Prof. Wallace’, received the award at the 22nd edition of Kings Foundation Awards as part of the ‘Tano Homecoming Festival’ in the Ahafo Region.
It was organised under the auspices of Kings Foundation in collaboration with Bechem United Football Club in Bechem/Duayaw-Nkwanta.
The editor and host of SportsNite show, an educative sports program on Asempa FM, was awarded the certificate of honour as a result of his exceptional talent in the discharge of his duties as a broadcaster.
The citation accompanying the award lauded the ‘Nation’s Presenter’ as he is affectionately called, as one of the few journalists who has helped in shaping the general development of sports in the country.
This latest recognition adds to the many others Prof. Wallace has received from the sporting fraternity over the years. These include recognitions by the MTN FA Cup Committee, Women Football Association, Ghana Cycling Association, etc.
Owner and bankroller of Bechem United FC, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw aka Agama, who is also known by the people of Bechem as Ghana’s Dangote, has been the brain behind the annual event.
The Kings Award is an annual programme aimed at honouring hardworking and deserving personalities in the county.
Personalities such as Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah; President of Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah as well as the President of Ghana Armwresling, Charles Osei Assibey were honoured on the night.
