The Ashanti Caucus of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament has declared its unwavering support for the party's Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, following the High Court judgment against him.

In a statement issued on Sunday, July 20, the caucus described Chairman Wontumi as a fearless, resilient and selfless leader whose contributions to the growth and electoral success of the NPP in the Ashanti Region and across Ghana could not be diminished by a single court ruling.

The MPs stressed that the judgment remained subject to appeal and expressed confidence that justice would ultimately prevail through the appellate process.

While affirming their respect for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, the caucus rejected suggestions that the ruling marked the end of Chairman Wontumi's political career.

The statement urged party members to rally behind him, insisting that the Ashanti Region had always stood by its own during difficult times.

The MPs also cautioned against what they described as a growing perception of selective justice, arguing that the law must be applied fairly and without political considerations.

The statement, signed by the Secretary of the Ashanti Caucus, Old Tafo MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah, called on NPP members, particularly in the Ashanti Region, to remain calm, united and law-abiding while supporting Chairman Wontumi through the legal process.

It assured the regional chairman that he did not stand alone and pledged the caucus's continued solidarity as he pursues an appeal against the judgment.
