Mr Solomon Abbam Quaye, Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Chief Executive, has urged Assembly members to join hands with the leadership of the sub-structures, traditional authorities and all other community members to ensure effective grassroot development.
He said the sub-structures served as media and centres for realization, promotion and conception of local level development, adding that their failure to help mobilize revenue and other resources for development would greatly affect the operations of the Assembly.
Mr Abbam Quaye said this when addressing the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Winneba.
The DCE also called on assembly members, traditional authorities and the citizenry to join hands together to lift the image of their communities since there were lots of opportunities available that had remain untapped.
"A lot is expected of us so we should do more to be able to give good account of ourselves at the end of our term".
He said the sub-structures were demanding their share of the common fund but had failed to submit reports on their performance for the past year as well as their activities planned for the new year.
"It should be made clear that no district assembly in the country will receive common fund without submitting returns on their activities as well as their projections for the year".
Mr Abbam Quaye urged sub-structures in the District to submit their returns and projection to the Assembly for forwarding to the Common Fund Administration for action.
He also urged them to intensify their revenue mobilization to enable the Assembly to generate enough revenue for development projects.Source: GNA
