Vivo Energy Ghana has confirmed a situation that led to the stalling of the engines for a number of customers who carried out transactions at the station on Sunday at Adomi Bridge.
"We confirm an incident which happened on Sunday, August 28, at our Adomi Bridge (Atimpoku) Shell Filling station.
"There was water ingress into the underground Super tank after the heavy downpour in the area. This resulted in the stalling of the engines for a number of customers who had earlier carried out transactions at the station," Vivo Energy Ghana admitted in a press release.
The fuel station in a statement issued on August 29, noted that on hearing "this unfortunate incident, sales at the station were immediately halted."
Vivo Energy added that all customers affected by the incident "were also immediately contacted and alternative arrangements were made for them."
"We continue to be in touch with the affected customers to ensure full closure."
According to the energy company, further investigations are being conducted to permanently resolve the issue and prevent any future occurrence.
"We apologise to all impacted customers whilst we work with our Technical Team to resolve this issue," they added.
Vivo Energy Ghana further assured its "cherished customers that this is an isolated case, and we remain committed to ensuring the strictest levels of quality and safety at all our service stations."
