A statement from the Ashanti Region Police Directorate said other members of Delta Force, who carried out the attack have been identified and are being sought out to assist with investigations.
Some 200 members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) affiliated group on Friday attacked the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, George Adjei, in their attempt to drive him out of the office.

They manhandled and pushed the security coordinator until police personnel rescued him.
Members of the vigilante group want their favourite, a man identified only as Mohammed, to get the job of regional security coordinator.
In the release signed by Insp. Godwin Ahianyo of the Public Affairs Unit of the police in Ashanti Region wants the public to "furnish the Command with necessary information" that will lead to the arrest of who take the law into their own hands.
