Worry no more because the refuse that has been sitting in front of your home will be collected before you know it.
That’s the assurance by the waste collectors. Residents in most parts of the capital have been very disturbed that garbage has been left to pile up in front of their homes.
Collectors blamed the situation on their inability to easily access the near full-to-capacity Saba landfill site.
But the authorities say that has now been fixed. Local Government Minister Samuel Ofosu Ampofo spent the weekend with engineers who repaired the main road to the site.
He said the waste collection companies would have to work overtime to clear the backlog of filth that has accumulated over the past few weeks.
Joy News’ Nana Yaa Fynn-Thompson has visited the landfill site and has filed this report.
