Authorities at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are putting measures in place to resolve the ongoing strike by the Junior Doctors of the hospital.
The doctors declared an indefinite strike last Monday to protest poor working conditions at the hospital.
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) is expected to meet the doctors over the matter.
Luv FM’s Elton John Brobbey who visited the hospital reports that officials are trying to put measures in place to get the doctors back to work ahead of the meeting with the GMA.
The strike, which has cost the lives of some patients on admission there, is already bringing about some positive changes to the hospital.
Notable among these changes are the installation of new air conditioners at the maternity ward, replacement of parts of faulty machines, essential drugs have also been provided for the pharmacy department.
According to Elton John Brobbey, the Junior Doctors Association said a meeting Saturday did not come to any useful conclusion on the way forward of the strike and the doctors hope to take a firm decision on the matter Sunday.
