The Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council is confident roadmap towards the payment of money to disgruntled customers of some micro finance companies in the region will bring an end to weeks of agitations in the region.
The region has witnessed sustained demonstration since last year over the inability of companies like, DKM, God is Love, Jaster motors to pay back money invested with them by residents.
A number of residents have reportedly died as a result of the incident.
The development according to the Regional Minister, Eric Opoku, presents clear danger for security of the region.
He told Joy News' Elton Brobbey, the REGSEC has put the security on high alert in the region but is confident the roadmap agreed will result in the payment of money owed customers of the financial institutions.
"The entire security is under control. The police have assured us that they will do everything possible to ensure there is absolute peace in the region.
"But we have also decided that there is also the need for us to get our people to understand to resolve the challenge so that they will know it is not even important to take to the streets on some of these issues.
The minister blamed some unnamed personalities and "selfish individuals" of churning out lies which he said have only worsened an already difficult challenge.
As part of the road map, "all the financial companies have been asked to come out with their payment plan." Some have started the payment, he indicated.
The minister disagreed with calls to have the managers of the microfinance companies arrested, arguing if they are arrested and jailed, how would the residents receive their monies?
