The Police in Berekum in the Bono Ahafo region say they are intensifying patrols in the area to ensure adequate security at radio stations there.
This follows the invasion of Berekum based Agoro FM by some angry youth belonging to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) last Saturday.
They stormed the station to protest comments made by some of their executives regarding the appointment of a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.
It took the intervention of the police to avert violence and ensure calm.
As part of measures to ensure peace in the area, the police have instructed managers of the radio station to suspend their morning political talk shows until further notice.
DSP Daniel Darteh, the Divisional Police Crime Officer of the area told Joy News "We are firm on ground, we are in control. We do our normal patrols - the day and night, we've intensified it [to cover] every corner of the municipality."
