After 12 years of failing to recapture the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency seat, politician, Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed a stronger ambition of defeating the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Joy FM's 'Battleground' tonight with Emefa Apawu at 8 pm plays host to the two contenders to understand and appreciate the contribution each party has to offer their constituency.
Ahead of the discussion, Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful disclosed that the NPP has a better chance of winning the seat because the situation surrounding their 22 years loss has been settled.
”The in-house bickering that we have which has cost us our seat seems to have been solved, we can only lose the seat when we are fighting,” he said.
According to him, the incumbent, Cassiel Ato Forson has failed to ensure development in the area.
“What has he done directly in the constituency? I can say on authority that whatever he has done is ordinary.”
However, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has disagreed with these assertions saying he shall be retained.
“Let no one create the impression outside the constituency that it is heavily contended, I do not see that.
"I can assure you that by the end of December 2020, Ato Forson and the NDC will hold Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, he is the lightest of all the weight and he will see his weakness level pretty soon, the bragging must stop," he said.
