Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned an ultra-modern administration block and facilities including lecture theatres for the Anhwiaso College of Science, located in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency of the Western North Region.
The school is the first tertiary institution in the Anhwiaso Traditional Area and was constructed with funds from the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Vice President Dr. Bawumia performed the commissioning on Monday, November 2, 2020, at the beginning of a two-day working visit to the region, during which he would visit a number of constituencies, commission a number of projects and pay courtesy calls on the chiefs and peoples of the region.

An elated Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, who is also President of the Western North Regional House of Chiefs, heaped praises on the Akufo-Addo administration for the many projects taking place in the newly-created Western North Region as a whole, and in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality in particular.
"Your Excellency, your government's developmental projects in Ghana and in Sefwi are monumental and clear for all to see.

"At the national level, farmers are enjoying the fruits of the Planting for Food and Jobs and the increases in cocoa prices. Plantain, cocoyam, cassava and the other foodstuffs are all in abundance.
"Today, all my subjects and other Ghanaian children can enjoy free secondary education because of Free SHS. That is a huge burden off the shoulders of parents.

"Your exploits in digitization continue to make life easier for everyone. Now qualified Ghanaians don't have to go all the way to Accra to get scholarship, they can apply online and go for interview here. Passport and NHIS renewal have all become easier."
Ogyeahohoo Gyebi continued: "In Sefwi, we can all see the many road works, like the Bibiani town roads, the classroom blocks, dormitories and dining blocks in our schools like Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School, toilets, administration buildings and other facilities for our new region.

"My people are happy, and we will continue to thank and reward you" he pledged.
Vice President Dr. Bawumia commended the MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai who doubles as the Regional Minister, Hon Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, whose instrumentality led to the establishment of the school.

The government of President Akufo-Addo would continue to develop the human resource of Ghana, he assured.
